A Color of Nonsense
I like to hear your stories though most of them are lies
But I listen cause we both like your voice
You're likely selfish but I drink it
Cause I know I'll never let you in
You fall asleep when I wish you'd go
And I run my fingers across your strings
Dedicated to the wisdom I provoke
When I say nothing you think you understand
And your all of the things that I know I love
But not a single thing I want to keep
Ask me about the things been stolen
And I'll let you inside my conscious
You'd do your best I know to make sense of these things
But you'd get lost in my colorful nonsense
Ill let you touch the surface, if you turn me out
But you'd have to be the man we both know you're not
So instead I make the knots that I know best
And even though Im already gone, we both stand still
I always walk backwards to get to the future
But youre somewhere in the middle this time
Not sure that you love me
Because you dont know who you are
So ask me about these things been stolen
And I'll let you see inside my conscious
You do your best I know to make sense of these things
But you'd get lost inside my colorful nonsense

Cello
COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL****
Cello
Everything moves with you and the spaces seemed filled
Quiet when you read me with haunting blue eyes
And I wake to the sound of your cello
You're full of promises I'll never make
Though your body reminds me I could
And you play your sonnet of strings
You ask me about scars, as you trace on my skin
And I know that you'd take them from me
If only I'd leave things behind
I'm not cynical when it comes to these things
I know all of the places I've been
You'd change my mind if I'd let you decide
But I dont know how to let you in
You say nothing, and I know that you'll hold me
And the spaces all cave when you wrap me against you
But I am taking more than I can give
And the cello it plays just for me
You write all the ways that you feel on my skin
And I know that you'd wait where I am
If only I don't let you go
I'm not cynical when it comes to these things
I know all of the places I've been
You'd change my mind if I'd let you decide
But I don't know how to let you in
Everything seems like the last time and I know that youre feeling it too
Watching me for the removal, afraid that I might disappear
And your cello it calls me back home
I'm not cynical when it comes to these things
I know all of the places I've been
You'd change my mind if I'd let you decide
But I don't know how to let you in

Melted Rings
COPYRIGHTED
Melted Rings
Ill take the suffering cause someone must own it
And give you my swift disregard
Foster your decision and tie up the noose
Nothing but this cold to keep you warm
We stay in the streets cause the booze are familiar
And I like the way your hair falls in your eyes
I listen to car radios make love as they dance
Watching your back as you leave
I wear your sweater, convinced that its better
Than wearing nothing at all
I hold fingertips against me, sure to convince me
That no one ever really moves
I buy melted rings to mold against these things
But still nothing ever fits
I take the bus, but we'll never get anywhere
You cant go back to whats gone
Wrap each present neatly though the paper is torn
So you throw it away
I stay in the places where the rain falls in rhythm
Til the drops play me like a piano
I wear your sweater, convinced that its better
Than wearing nothing at all
I hold fingertips against me, sure to convince me
That no one ever really moves
I buy melted rings to mold against these things
But still nothing ever fits
Cut through the weeds, til you find your flower
Nothing grows the way it should
Run along now, we can't cross the mountain
When the miracles been spent
Should of taken the easy, to transfixed on the diamond
But its not worth the money you've paid
Things blow away, but you'll never catch them
Best to stand still and watch them go.

Old becomes New

Old Becomes New
You think you see it all, Kalediscope colors make things clear
But you've never really looked
I give you politeness, cut into perfect lines
But the image has gone out of view
The song it plays it you, but you never hear it
Too caught up in the sway
But you'll compliment all of it
Still never where you belong
And its rightgeous and its generous but nothing is real
Everyone's trying to get through
The line of the victim is long but forgotten
When everything old becomes new
And your brow it is heavy with worry and shame
Cause you let others lead you around
I watch you fold, scattered with pride
But its lonely when everyone leaves
You sift through the things you've known
But you dont know who you are
And its rightgeous and its generous but nothing is real
Everyone's trying to get through
The line of the victim is long but forgotten
When everything old becomes new
